Almost at the beginning of growing the main pylons. With time, the main pylons
would grow, the main and back spans would appear, stay cables would be
assembled, span segments aligned and
joined. This is the result of a photo essay adventure triggered
by visits to the SC aquarium with my grand children. A web page seemed like
a great way to share what I saw with them. I did not realize that once
Google indexed the pages, that these pages would become a community project
with world-wide collaborators. One of the best adventures of my life!
The project started with weekend bicycle rides to the aquarium and taking
a standard set of photos. As time went on, invitations appeared to visit
various aspects of the bridge, to capture some of the construction processes
and share them with the world. The Internet provided the communication
between me and many of you. Without your contributions, this would be just
another set of photos.
