Building the Ravenel Bridge


After all the photos I took, I've tried to arrange them in some order based on various topics I found interesting.

Old men ought to be explorers
Here and there does not matter

April 16, 2005:Joining the East Bay ramp with the Meeting Street Ramp

Paving of the roadway and bike path is almost complete

A nice piece of engineering. As you can see above, the vertical supports for the Pearman bridge are in the middle of the bike lane. Here you can see the rebar waiting (April 2, 2005) for concrete which is waiting for removal of the vertical supports. What to do?

Build a bike lane detour - as shown here - a nice platform of pressure treated wood, with hand rails. No second class job here for the bikers, walkers and joggers.
